The Great Cake Cookoff Is Here!by sally Introducing the Great Cake Cook-Off! Head to Kinzville to join in our newest multiplayer game and work together to bake the biggest cake you’ve ever seen!  Click on the table to join. When the entry period is over, the game begins! Search Kinzville and collect ingredients for the cake: Eggs, Butter, and Flour!  But watch out — everyone playing in your game sees the same ingredients, so you’ll have to be quick and get to them first. You can collect up to 9 ingredients at a time, then you must race back to drop them off. Earn points for each required ingredient.  Once you’ve collected enough ingredients as a group within the time limit, watch as the fantastic cake is baked! All participants earn KinzCash, and the top three get special prizes. 1st place gets a random mixer, 2nd place gets a Baker’s Jacket, and 3rd place gets extra KinzCash.  In addition to prizes, earn points for the monthly leaderboard with each cake successfully baked!  The player with the top score at the end of the month will receive an extra special prize — a Great Cake Cookoff Trophy!  The Great Cake Cookoff is available at select times in the Kinzville Park. Keep this schedule handy!  |

i've played 3 times so far.
i've gotten 3rd once, and 1st twice.
when i got 3rd, i was given 10 leadership board points. for getting 1st, i got 25 each time. so leadership points vary based on your placement!
so far i've gotten the multicolored & blue mixers, so hopefully ill get the yellow one. i'm not sure if im truly attempting to climb the leaderboard for that big trophy... ill keep playing it though, it's pretty fun, with the exception of the pets being super clunky running around. i recently began investing in the speed skill, which now i see could be really useful for this kind of game... i think my pet only has, like, a 4% speed boost though, so nothing too helpful lol... maybe by lvl 5 it'll be a decent amount.

encountered a bug today!
today's 7-8pm game didn't allow me to join, it acted as if i had already played but i hadn't. it was doing this for several other players too, i chatted with some people who confirmed... i saw other people appearing to play (wearing the chefs hat and running around, that is) so i'm not sure why it only affected some players and not others. i had played the earlier games in the day, so maybe it has to do with that?
it really sucks, because they're doing this whole leaderboard thing. im at 100pts or so, and was kinda hoping maybe if i really stuck to it i could climb the ranks... maybe it was unrealistic anyway, cuz i was already behind (i ignored the event the first two or three days), but it definitely isn't fair or fun to have the game throw such a wrench in it either. really wish they'd have left the leaderboard stuff out of it til they'd ironed out bugs, plus starting it mid-month means this is an unusually short run too. they should've just teased the leaderboard part of it and slated it to start on the 1st, that way people could get used to the game & they could iron out bugs. oh well...

after being blocked from joining 4 events in a row, i was able to join this morning. there was a tweet made about how they fixed an issue with the apple event this morning, so my guess is they also fixed the cookoff at this time too.
there's been no official response or acknowledgement of this bug that i've seen: someone approves comments on wkn, and approved tons complaining of this issue, but still no response. i really don't appreciate that kind of silence. i don't understand how they expect most players to enjoy this game with so little communication/understanding. bugs are to be expected, sure, but i'd really like if they were open about it and took care to let players know about the bug in a timely manner. players, across classic and next, have NO way to know about issues or workarounds unless they go out of the game and invest their own effort towards finding wkn comments, discord servers, online groups, forums, etc... these online communities are carrying the burden way too much imo, with no recognition from ganz. they also have a habit of never apologizing or offering compensation for many bugs, too, regardless of how devastating the bug is or isn't.
again, i really have no issue being patient for fixes. i realize bugs are to be expected. but i just feel ganz really abuses player's patience. they should have developed a better system for reporting & handling bugs by now, considering they happen with every update to next & classic ... i really hate that so many players experienced this cook-off bug - a bug that actively ruins our chances at the leaderboards, at that - and they don't care to even comment and acknowledge it's an issue on their end, that there's some workaround, that a patch is coming soon, that leaderboards will be paused... instead they completely act as if it doesn't exist, and seem to have fixed it with no word and no compensation or apology or even an explanation as to why such a bug would happen.
ganz has cultivated such a small and kind community, of people who are doing a lot of work for them especially when it comes to communication & PR ... i wish they would do better to appreciate us ...
