i did browse to see if there was a more appropriate suggestions thread, but didn't see it on the home page, so i apologize if i missed a better place to put this. however, i've had the idea recently and was wondering what the community thought...
next is a lower priority both here on the forums and on ganz's official social media. it doesn't get as frequent updates or events, and not as many people here play next. what if we condensed the news surrounding next into one thread? instead of making a new thread for each news update, the updates instead could be posted as a reply in one continuous thread. this makes it easier for those who don't play next to avoid it, since it's just one thread instead of several. i think because information surrounding next is so much more sparse, it seems like a tidier way to handle it. just some food for thought.
classic, on the other hand, has so many updates each day between events, estore deals, and game updates. plus everyone here plays classic. so it makes complete sense to separate each thing into its own dedicated post, for easier discussion. i just think next doesn't really need so much room and could easily be wrapped up into one thread, since it's much slower-going in comparison.
as an aside, another part of it is that i'd love to give the updates on next or chat about it more, but often i feel it isn't worth making a totally new forum thread. i still play both classic & next every day, check the news everyday, and check webkinz town each day ... i wouldn't mind posting updates or things i've noticed in a next thread. it makes me comfortable that players who don't use next can easily mark the thread as "read forever" on here, and they won't get notified of every new message for a game they don't really play, too.
for those who do play next, and admins ... what do you think of the idea of putting next updates in one thread?

I'm not sure how this would affect the admin side of things but I really like the idea! If, in some years next becomes really big, bigger or as big as classic, there could be multiple threads. Even now there could still be say, two threads, maybe a next estore related thread and a next everything else. 😊

do not click on the "showcase or Next 101" Just click on the word Next, it will take you to all the latest news for the game

do not click on the "showcase or Next 101" Just click on the word Next, it will take you to all the latest news for the game True! I think what RainbowRascal is saying though is it would be cool if all the posts here on Webkinztown about Next were on one thread instead of seperate threads for everything. Since there is less going on and less players interested in next (at least here on Town). So then when ganz mentions the upcoming cake contest or new feature, it would just be a post on that one thread rather than a whole seperate one every time. ❤ Not saying there needs to be extra news about next, you guys already work your buns off getting us great updates on everything, classic and otherwise 🥰 just when there is something about next it would all be on one place here in Webkinztown 🥰

I do really like this idea! It makes sense to do it this way, however, I think it might get to be too much to have a never-ending thread. I'm always hesitant to put too much into one thread because it makes it more difficult when searching for information if you have to go through a ton of posts, or information, instead of clicking on one link where its right there as the main topic.
I do have a question for you. Are you seeing this as being a thread where people can still comment and chat, ask questions or provide info? If that's the case, all the new info would have to be placed in the original post. Or we'd have to lock the thread to not allow comments. Not really a fan of locking threads when its something ongoing, where people want to chat.
Here are some thoughts/ideas: One monthly thread for each of these categories; Pets Events Updates/Games
This way it would condense things but not make it too much info to sort through or to find what you need.

I think its a great idea. We could start out doing a monthly thread for all condensed into those three categories. The only way I've found to date their info is to check the comments for the date the first comment was posted. I'd love it if they'd date their posts. Yes, I'd definitely love to have the ability to chat rather than having closed threads. I think its a great idea to condense it more than it is currently.

so, i'm guessing the categories would work this way:
Pets - baby showcase, new pets, plush sales, baby/kid/sparking Events - anything "currently" happening such as the cake bakeoff, information about seasons, catch the school bus, etc Updates - sneak peeks (that wouldn't go in the other two above), general information, wheel changes, arcade games or trophies, etc
i think that makes sense to me! the only one im not too sure about are posts about the mystery capsules; pets, because theyre a premium item so they could be put alongside plushes? events, because they're usually seasonal/time-limited? or maybe just updates, since they don't completely fit in anywhere else...

the last thing i wonder about is the distinction between news posts and chat posts. there should maybe be some sort of procedure to make it easy to distinct, either a certain font color; always using a certain bold header to denote news; or even using these lines:
as long as i'm allowed to, i'd love to post news as i can too and keep things rolling! but i don't wanna do any crazy formatting that might clash with how others post news or etc. it seems better to be uniform, especially when its within one thread. i'll probably wait for newfie to get the threads rolling and i can follow suit in the future based on how you decide to set it up!

another idea: about concerns with helping people find information quicker, whoever makes each monthly thread could hypothetically edit that first post and maintain a table of contents too. you can click the cog wheel at the top right (on browser, anyway) of a post and get a link to that specific post. then they could link the posts in a table of contents, with the news titles? for example, All August Newz: NEW Mazin’ Run Trophies In Webkinz Next!Did You Win A Free Ice Cream? (just used a link to one of my posts here randomly) or, there could potentially be a megathread, with no commentary, that exists as a major table of contents, linking to each news post... probably organized chronologically, divided by month?
