Hi!
I honestly am out of the WW loop, but I keep seeing most of the current events having things still only available on the web version of WW. I thought flash was ending in 2020 and we would have to transfer to the desktop app? If this is the case why isn't every coded for the desktop app? Shouldn't they be trying to gradually pull support away from web and put it towards the desktop app?

The only platform these things are not on is the mobile app. I have done pretty much everything on the desktop

I am sure it is updated at the same time as the browser version.

the site pulls from the same assets whether it's on the computer or the desktop version. Therefore if they need updates to the desktop version it'd be specifically adding functionality to it that isn't to the site (so like if it got a windowed mode like i wish they'd add, even if all we could see is the taskbar)
they mean to say both when it's the web version because both are working off the same logic. they're also going to continue supporting the browser version until it poots, so until then they'll keep saying 'web version'
and since you are still on the web on the desktop version... albeit a much more closed in one (since it's just webkinz's assets sites) not exactly inaccurate.

It's the end of 2020 that Flash goes kaput. It seems like Ganz is putting all their work into the desktop app that will still use Flash. Does anyone have any idea if they have plans to switch to HTML5 and if they don't, why not?

flash itself won't disappear off the planet it's just that browser support is ending for the plugin specifically. because the desktop app is running flash and runs on a different program there's no problem running flash for however long they see fit then
it's not like when you turn on a computer that runs windows xp it suddenly stopped working because it doesn't have official support. the same is happening to flash right now.
