I've tried to modify my mini profile, but the box didn't pop up. 
I fixed your problem and I believe I placed the correct picture there. If I didn't, it should be easy for you to correct.

It was empty before, but now it has a link to tinypic for the blank background. |

Click where the tinypic link is. Does it bring up a box? If not, click there, click the save button down at the bottom of the page. Refresh the page.
