Hello! My name is Am.
I'm new to the forum, but I am not new to Webkinz. When I was young I had tons of them and they were some of my favorite toys both on and offline. It was only recently that I learned Webkinz was remastered for the new web and that there is more content to enjoy these days than ever. I'm an adult now, so in my search for a place to get info and resources about the game I stumbled across Webkinztown. What a lovely community you have here!!!
Just for fun, some other info about me is that I'm a college student (Communications major), I have four pets in real life, and I study foreign languages in my spare time. Right now it's Japanese, but previously it was Spanish, and later on in life I'd be stoked to try tackling Mandarin or Korean. Also, pictured below are my lovelies. I want more but my wallet needs to take a breather for now.

Hi Am, welcome! I've only become active in this forum recently, but I've been playing for a long time, too. It's great to have other friends that enjoy the game! How wonderful that you have an affinity for languages. That will surely serve you well if you work in communications.

I love your little family, so cute. Welcome to the forum. Like most, I started with my kids getting a plush. That was 12/07. Created my account after a few months. Unfortunately I was very picky in the early days, so I do not have much of that stuff. I still log into their accounts each day. I am an avid bear collector, have every one ever made for WW. (plush and virtual. I include polars, koalas and pandas in that count) While my WW family counts into the many hundreds, you will usually just see my diva, a magical retriever, when posting here. Enjoy the forum and let me know if you have any questions. Same for you PJO

Am さん、こんにちわ! はじめまして。私は、スターです。 どうぞよろしく。私は少し日本語を話します。(Am, hello! How are you? I am Star. Pleased to meet you. I speak a little Japanese). I took Japanese for required foreign language studies in college. Like you, I'm also a college student, I majored in music and I'm now getting my masters in music. I took a communications summer course as a sophomore in undergrad and really enjoyed it! If you decide to learn Mandarin, you may find some similarities with Japanese because kanji are adapted from Chinese. I've heard before that Korean grammar is extremely similar to Japanese grammar as well. I grew up on Webkinz too (started in 2006) and was in and out of it as I got older, but have been playing more often during my free time over the past year or so.

Do you play any instruments or do you compose/write, or something else entirely? Whatever you specialize in, as somebody who is very passionate about music but not too knowledgeable about the technical aspects, I think that's incredible.
I've been using Wanikani to learn kanji and I've had incredible success with their program. That's what made me consider Mandarin, because otherwise what a challenge that would be, LOL.
:starluv:
I know the kanji for star in Japanese is 星, pronounced ほし. "スター" has such a nice ring to it though! 私は, アム, but in online spaces I sometimes use 午前 (ごぜん) as a screen name.

I'm super impressed with you both! Proud of you too. No one can ever take learning away from you.

I'm a classical pianist who performs and teaches and I have done some composing before. Wanikani...have not heard of that program before, but sounds really interesting! Will check it out. I chose "スター" in this context because my username is inspired by Star Wars (スター・ウォーズ) but yes "ほし/星”=star too. :starluv:
